WHAT IS PROOF-OF-TRANSACTION?

Proof-of-Transaction (PoT) is a dual system of verifying transaction size and order to eliminate attacks which target transactions, while also being a way of verifying transaction ownership.
While PoT rewards are a rare occurrence, PoT runs on all proof-of-work blocks. When there is a match between an address inside a transaction and the block hash, a PoT reward of 5% of the proof-of-work reward is rewarded to the owner of the matching address.WHITEPAPER

Abstract.
One of the descendants of Bitcoin, Fluttercoin sets itself apart as the first crypto-currency to provide transactions as a proof of participation. Proof-of- transaction adds an additional layer of blockchain and transactional security by allowing economic participants to prove they were involved in a transaction. This system verifies the coinbase of every proof-of-transaction block, and validity of a proof-of-transaction reward. The result, secures the blockchain as all unmodified nodes will reject invalid blocks that should or shouldn’t have included a proof-of-transaction rewards.

Introduction
Since the inception of Bitcoin, mining reward has been reserved for the miner. Miners as of this writing range from individuals to corporate operations, and require specialized hardware and energy consumption to solve proof-of-work blocks. This system effectively eliminates most individuals from participating in mining, and instead forces them to participate through investment, gifting, or payment acceptance.
Another issue with the current model is the possibility that an attacker can modify transaction order or data via 51% attacks or similar. While there have been improvements to Bitcoin’s system, most notably Proof-of-Stake minting, it does not go far enough.Proof-of-transaction sets out to solve both issues.

Proof-of-Transaction
Proof-of-work, introduced with Bitcoin provides the initial catalyst for mining and spending coins, and it is later replaced to an extent by Proof-of-stake, which provides rewards for securing the network through proof of coin ownership.
With the advent of Proof-of-transaction, we now allow adopters the network to generate partial proof- of-work mining rewards in return for verifying their participation in the previous block’s transaction record.In addition, proof-of-transaction adds a layer of security by eliminating the possibility to re-order or modify large chains of block transactions because doing so would possibly cause a block to be rejected by all other behaving nodes, resulting in the attacker effectively forking onto their own incompatible blockchain.

Proof-of-Transaction Reward Generation
Proof-of-transaction rewards are decided essentially on acceptance of a new block by the network. On each block, the previous block’s transactions, and each address contained in said transactions, within the system parameters, are evaluated for a reward by comparing each address to the previous block’s hash.

The result is a match for Jill’s search term, resulting in Jill’s address FRwNpW6e59SVhJqmZXFyPLRGFkwihBJvfB being rewarded 5% (1 Fluttercoin) of the next block’s proof-of-work reward of 20 Fluttercoins. In order for the above block to be accepted by the network, the search is done on each node accepting the block, looking particularly for the coinbase size, coinbase reward, and address involved in the coinbase. If there is any deviation, which would happen through re-ordering of transactions or modification of transactions, the block is rejected by the network.

Automation Protection
One of the considerations in implementing something like proof-of-transaction is the fact that there are those who would seek to exploit this system for their gain “can I send coins back and forth constantly to generate rewards.” Measures were put in place to prevent such automated spamming of the blockchain for this purpose. The reward system is now mostly geared 99% towards small outputs (person to person, person to store, etc.). Large outputs to many addresses are now given a higher PoT difficulty, effectively greatly decreasing ones chances of gaming the system. These measure and all future measures with regard to proof-of-transaction seek to eliminate the possibility of simply flooding a block with transactions sending to many addresses in the hopes of mining a proof-of- transaction reward.

Conclusion
It is my hope that proof-of-transaction will provide an additional layer of security, while also allowing participants in the economy to unknowingly participate in securing and being rewarded for their adoption of Fluttercoin as an electronic currency.

Community takeover of fluttercoin

Team FLT has been hard at work recently building a solid foundation for the coin in the form of vast improvements to the software and code, and engaging with and encouraging the budding community of FLT users. Proof of Transaction makes FlutterCoin by nature a social currency, a coin driven by its community. And the community is growing daily. In the next wallet patch users will be able to set their client to perform PoS work without needing the passphrase to unlock the wallet, and will be able to lock their wallets with the push of a button, leaving the client running. 4 Question Interview With TeamFLT Of Fluttercoin
There’s no better way to get a feel for an individual Altcoin community than conducting a 4 Question Interview with the key players and the dev team that stands behind the project.

We recently had the opportunity to chat with TeamFLT – the folks behind Fluttercoin – and learned that this coin has underwent a number of changes, including a community takeover.

After overcoming this initial setback that resulted with many other Altcoins being tossed atop the funeral pyre, Fluttercoin is stronger than it’s ever been, but we’ll let TeamFLT tell their story in their own words.


Fluttercoin has been around for a while, can you give a little history on the background of the coin?
Fluttercoin was created in March of this year featuring the highly innovative Proof-of-transaction, a third mining method that allowed users to receive fluttercoin by using the coin and spending it.

It was only a few months ago when Fluttercoin was booming. The cryptoworld was a buzz with its potential, Fluttercoin was accompanied with the majority of crypto-related tweets, and we saw its price sky rocket from 100 satoshis to 2800 satoshis (2800%) within a short period even before all its features were properly announced. Everything was coming up Fluttercoin!

And then the good ol’ law of Newton came kicking in. The Fluttercoin and alternate currency world got turned upside down. We became witness to the price explosion of Darkcoin which rivalled Bitcoin’s sharp rise that made many early adopters quite rich. Investors started getting starry-eyed and demanded results. They were hungry and craved the same success from other coins, but were filled with high emotions which gave room for fear, uncertainty, and doubt. It was enough to send any team of developers to the madhouse, let alone Fluttercoin’s single developer at the time, which led to a community takeover.


What progress has been made with Fluttercoin since the community took over?
There has been amazing progress since the community takeover. Several existing Fluttercoin users came together and started to discuss the possibilities and future of Fluttercoin. We started to form a group mostly on Skype where conversation went and still goes on daily based around community, dedication to success, and a friendly atmosphere.

The group quickly became successful and attracted several new developers and crypto-currency enthusiasts who wanted to get involved and be heard. Soon, the chemistry surrounding fluttercoin led us to all put our brains together and put down a plan.
The plan? To take crypto-currency back to its roots. Fluttercoin was now completely community driven, so we aimed for a decentralized currency that is used for and by the community. We weren’t interested in get rich schemes or pump and dumps. We believed in transparency and community over price and we planned and still plan to prove it.

Our current goal is to build a strong community base so that we stand the test of time. Many alt-coins will perish in the nearby future. We plan to flourish. We envision Fluttercoin as fun and welcoming to all; from your hardcore crypto expert to your loving grandma.

Are there any major developments currently in the works? If so, what are they and do you have a timeframe for their implementation?
There are quite a few major developments in the works, and we always encourage all interested to get involved to keep up to date with our progress.

First on the plate are the fundamentals. Our developers are hard at work for Fluttercoin to boast one of the most user-friendly wallets out there.


Here are some features that will be included in future releases:

Flutterspeed:
One of the most daunting experiences for new and even experienced crypto users is the downloading of the blockchain which can sometimes take hours. With Flutterspeed, the blockchain is being handled with lightning speed allowing the Fluttercoin blockchain to be downloaded up to 25x Faster.

Google 2 Factor Authentication:
We’ve all heard stories of stolen and hacked wallets which have become more frequent in recent times. We aim to make our wallet as secure as possible and with Google 2FA, Fluttercoin users can more confidently put their worries to rest. Google 2FA is an App which produces a new six-digit one-time password over a rolling time of 30 seconds. When Google 2FA is enabled, to access one’s fluttercoin wallet, they must now be in posession of both the password and the 2FA rolling password.

Auto-update:
Fluttercoin is trying to ban the dirty ‘F’ word. ‘Fork’. Simply put, when fork happens quite often in crypto-currency which is caused by users being on different versions of the blockchain. With Fluttercoin’s upcoming auto-update feature, you don’t have to worry about being left in the dark, having mis-sends, or missing out on mining action.
Password Retrieval:
Have you ever felt tired or scared of forgetting your password to important accounts? Don’t worry… we’ve all been there. Fluttercoin is creating a method to allow users to retrieve their password so they don’t have to worry about losing their coins ever.

Ease:
The wallet is now being coded in QT5 which will allow simple but sharp looking graphics giving fluttercoin users easy access to to the full advanced features of Fluttercoin.

Anon Mixer:
We feel that sometimes it is necessary for users to be able to protect their identity. That’s why we’re working on an optional anon mixer to allows users to send and/or receive funds comfortably.

The official website www.fluttercoin.us has gone through an extensive facelift, giving users a quick and simple way to browse everything Fluttercoin, including our latest wallet, chain explorers, merchants, social media pages, and markets.

Hi Yan, and thanks for letting us have this conversation. So we know about FLT issues in the past and how you were able to overcome them. It looks like the community took the project into their hands and figured a way out of the Fork. This took much commitment from the main Team, and now it looks like theres a new rush towards FLT. We would like to know more about the new team, how you came up together and the new FLT project.

Well, it’s been a hell of a challenge when we took over after the previous developer’s departure!
Flt is a triple hybird coin; you can mine it (PoW), stake it (PoS) and also be rewarded to use it (PoT).

Proof-of-transaction is a complete new feature in cryptos and our team’s best contribute to innovation in the digital currencies field. Proof-of-transaction rewards people for sending and using Fluttercoin. It’s a complete new way of coin’s creation. I won’t enter technical details because it’s not my department at all, but PoT is a huge innovation yet to be known by most of people in cryptos.
We have nothing to hide! And it’s been part of our strength since the takeover. A quick hint is that FLT was created by 2 developers, but unfortunately they abandoned the coin for known and unknown reasons. When they left, the coin was badly forked. So bad that most of users thought it was the end of Fluttercoin – FLT.

But the cool part began afterwards; a handful of dedicated investors and workers joined forces and decided to do their best to save the coin.
We were less than 10; then this team of workers and interested investors created a Skype group to discuss options on how to address these problems. First target was to handle the fork issue. At this moment, we have one member of the Team that took the lead and worked as hell to learn the code, to understand what was going on, and tried to figure how to correct this major Fork, which he did. So the developer worked on this fork issue – helped by some internal and external guys while we tried to regroup as much people as possible in our Skype group. We grew real fast. Ofeefee, the lead developer, got the fork issue handled, and then we worked on other aspects and other minor complications. Now, we have implemented new features and are preparing to integrate even more features.FLT_coinfinance_interview
Soon after the fork had been resolved the team built a Mac wallet, windows, linux, a new website, 2 block explorer, and so on. New developers joined in, new promoters, new investors; but as a group, we choose to avoid every form of hype for a long time.
We – as a group – are tired of all kinds of scams out there, and decided to do all with complete transparency. I know it’s a common word to hear these days, but we really want to go forward with it. We want to avoid ”hidden” plans, ”fake hypes”, ”Pump and Dumps” and all.

Can you talk about these new features?

We are now releasing our new client (wallet). It will be including 2 nice features, one being complete new in cryptos.
The first one is called FlutterSpeed. It’s a ”service” allowing loading and syncing the entire blockchain in less then 5 minutes. This way, new users don’t have to wait for hours or days to use it.
We really want to create the most user friendly currency – and it’s a part of the milestone path.
The other feature is named FlutterShare. It’s a way to donate a % of the proof-of-stake reward to a third party address (charity, friend, or hopefully FLT Team bounty fund!)FLT_coinfinance_interview_1_r
Other specs as coin control are included (allowing to control the coin you spend, avoiding spending ”near-mature” coin)
FlutterSpeed is an optional feature for those that want to sync up quickly. It is an alternative to syncing as do other coins. After wallet load, user selects flutterspeed and restarts the wallet, downloads 90% of the blockchain and then synchronizes the remaining blocks via p2p.

So, now that you have all ready and set to go what are your main goals?

The Team’s main goal is to be an example to follow in the crypto currency space. We recognize it’s an ambitious move, but it’s a good feeling to work with hopes and full confidence that we are behaving the right way.
Also we would like to pint out that the Team does not have any ”premine” to work with. No fund. So we decided to create a fund, and some of us have contributed a lot to fill it and the funding help for paying some projects. But the fun part is, still, most of our team members (including me), are not being paid at all. We just do what we can to help.

Please explain us more about the Proof-of-transaction – PoT process.

Proof of Transaction is a reward based security feature. It rewards 5% of PoW reward for transactions on certain blocks. The PoT algorithm selects a address on a transaction and on next block the 5% PoW is paid to this address. The security benefits to this is that the PoT block is checked to verify the transactions on the previous block making it more difficult for someone to rewrites the blockchain.FLT_coinfinance_interview1
Proof of Stake is variable based on block participation. With few blocks participating in PoS the interest is 100% annually. As more blocks participate this reduces to 5% annully
This rewards users for network participation, running their wallets, in addition to the security PoS provides.

what’s your position regarding the actual bitcoin and cryptocurrency situation?

Well…It’s the reason why we are working that hard with Fluttercoin.
I’ve been scammed in many coins. I was disgusting: I jumped in cryptos for its potential to improve the world we live in. I’ve always been an idealist.
I think that cryptos are changing now. Exchanges like Mintpal and Cryptsy try to secure everything. People are looking for ”fair and ethic” team.
Overall, we feel cryptos are standing at a crossroad. People are starting to look for honest teams – fair coins – fair exchanges, etc. Security – ethic – fairness is the principal asset that a project can have right now, even more then innovation and promotion!
So as a group, for our future, we decided to be an example of transparency – and we know we have many followers just by following these simple rules. Fluttercoin Team wants to prove it’s possible to be both honest and successful in cryptos, and all our decisions follow this direction.

And what are your expectations for your project?

Nothing official yet, but here are some options we are planning:
